Your job must be formalised with an employment contract (only then are you guaranteed your agreed wage and other work protections, which are very important, especially if there’s an accident at work).
The contract is made in writing in two identical copies – one stays with the employer, the other with you.
If you’re 14 to 16 years old, to sign the contract you need: 1) written consent from one parent or your legal guardian; 2) a medical certificate from a health care facility stating you can do that specific job; 3) during the school year, written consent from the school you’re attending.
WHAT KIND OF JOBS CAN I DO FROM 14 TO 16?
You can only do light jobs that, due to their tasks and conditions, do not harm your safety, health, or development and do not interfere with school attendance, learning under compulsory education and vocational training programmes, or receiving educational support.
