Bring Together Lithuania summer internship and modern Lithuania programme
“The Bring Together Lithuania programme gives young Lithuanian diaspora representatives the opportunity to spend 6 weeks of the summer interning in leading companies, start-ups, public sector and organisations in Lithuania, establishing personal and professional contacts. Participants have the opportunity to meet and build relationships with outstanding Lithuanian business, innovation, political and social leaders.
WHO IS THE PROGRAMME FOR?
Lithuanian diaspora youth, born and/or raised abroad or living outside Lithuania for 6 years or more.
Studying or graduating from Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes (18-29 years old).
The Lithuanian Expatriate Student Internship Program (LESI) is a 5-week program run by the Lithuanian-American community in Lithuania that provides students with the opportunity to intern in their chosen profession, improve their Lithuanian language skills, and become familiar with the daily and cultural life of Lithuania and the changes taking place in these areas.
The LESI programme also includes an intensive cultural programme. Young people discover a creative, open and high-tech Lithuania. Students visit biomedical and laser companies, high-tech science centres, and have discussions with a wide range of high added-value business and science representatives.
Upon successful completion of the internship, participants can add (international) work experience in Lithuania to their CV and receive 5 university credits, as the Lithuanian-American community cooperates with Lithuanian universities: since 2010 with Vytautas Magnus University, and in 2017 – with Vilnius University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR?
Lithuanian-born undergraduate and graduate students (18-26 years old) in the USA and Canada.
The student must have attended Saturday Lithuanian language classes or be an active member of the Lithuanian American community.
Lithuanian Ambassador to the USA Foundation for Future Leaders internship in Lithuania
The Lithuanian Ambassador to the USA Foundation for Future Leaders, established on the occasion of the centenary of the restored Lithuanian state, aims to develop professionals of Lithuanian origin who will contribute to strengthening the strategic ties between Lithuania and the USA.
During the internship, the young leaders are introduced to the Lithuanian political system, meet with representatives of the President’s Office, the Seimas, the Government, ministries and other institutions, learn about the current issues in Lithuanian domestic and foreign policy, and the role of the diaspora in representing Lithuania’s interests in the world.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The competition is open to all Lithuanian-American students. Preference is given to students in political science, diplomacy, public administration, and international relations programs, but applications are open to all talented and enterprising students.
Candidates for the internship are selected from among students who have applied for the Lithuanian Foundation Scholarship and have indicated in the space provided on the application that they wish to participate in this competition.
Candidates for the internship are selected on the basis of their study results, academic achievements and involvement and activity in social activities.
