Vilnius university
There are two main options for you to continue your studies at Vilnius University:
Transfer to the following study year from your current university directly to VU
Each case is individual and evaluated separately by the committee of each study programme, so please, write e-mail (ask@vu.lt) to us as your statement of the interest to transfer and the relevant information regarding your current studies. After evaluating this information, such as the courses that you have already taken and the study programme that you wish to transfer to, we will contact you and provide you with information on the exact conditions for your transfer.
If possible, please submit the official university transcript of your study subjects and marks.

You will be able to apply for both state-funded and non-state-funded study places. Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the Diaspora and people of Lithuanian origin, can apply for the State-Funded Place here, also persons (non-EU/EFTA) granted a right of permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania and others, can apply for the State-Funded Places in the programme, please follow this link or contact us by e-mail ask@vu.lt.
You will be able to submit an application to the Academic Unit (Faculty) where you will study for the possibility not to repeat the courses that you have already taken in case there are any.
Scholarships
In order to express solidarity with students from higher education institutions in Ukraine who may not be able to continue their current studies, Vilnius University encourages them to transfer their studies to one of our study programmes or to apply to one of our study programmes. Additionally, the most talented students will also receive a monthly grant of € 200 month in the first year of studies.
Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), continuing the initiative dedicated to the support of Eastern Partnership countries, has extended a helping hand to the Ukrainians. In 2020, VMU established a support fund dedicated to students who suffered from repression by the Belarusian government. Now, this fund will also support students who suffered from military operations in Ukraine.
As a way to show its support of the Ukrainian government and people, in response to the recent events, Vytautas Magnus university is prepared welcome up to 400 students and up to 50 lecturers or researchers who are fleeing the war. The graduates of VMU also contribute to the support of the Ukrainian citizens in various ways.
