The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania invites you to apply for traineeships in the Ministry’s departments, diplomatic missions and consular posts around the world.

The objectives of the internship are to introduce young people to the diplomatic and civil service of the Republic of Lithuania, to form an objective view of it, to encourage young people to pursue a career in the civil or diplomatic service, and to promote interest in foreign policy.

WHO IS IT FOR?

• Citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and citizens of the European Union and NATO countries who can speak Lithuanian and whose application is not objected to by the Security Control and Coordination Unit of the Ministry.
• Students of higher education institutions in the basic or integral studies, who have completed at least the second year of studies, master’s and doctoral students, as well as graduates of higher education institutions who graduated not earlier than two years before the start of their internship at the Ministry.

WHEN? WHEN? WHERE?

• The duration of the traineeship must be at least four weeks but no longer than six months.
• The Security Control and Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs carries out a screening of the applicant’s candidature for the traineeship by assessing the completed questionnaire submitted by the applicant for the traineeship in the Ministry or in the diplomatic missions, and the signed Pledge. The screening process takes about 4-5 weeks.
